Porterville Historical Museum

Porterville celebrated its 100th birthday in 1961. To honor its founding a century earlier, the community held events throughout the year.  Collector and Museum archivist, John McWilliams, diligently gathered donated items representative of the year-long celebrations.  Although the special exhibit has concluded, we still display the original time capsule for the celebration (donated by Vernon Martin), original 1961 wood sign, mementos and photos. (You or someone you know might even be in some of them!)
